Repentance and Restoration

Dear Church Family,
Greetings in Jesus’ name!
You can alter your future with one decision. What should you do if you find yourself in that situation? I mentioned on Sunday night (May 21) that I am convinced you can recover from any bad decision or sin if you want to. The reason I believe that is the great, enduring, infinite grace and mercy of God. It is who God is that always gives us hope. It is His great love “wherewith He loves us” that holds the hope of promised restoration. In David’s great prayer after his sin in the matter of Bathsheba and Uriah the Hittite, David utters these words in Psalm 51:10-13…

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will return to you”

We see here repentance and restoration. Verse 17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

Very often people believe what it is they have done cannot be fixed, forgiven or cannot experience freedom from however, it is simply not true. Does God overlook our sin? No. Does He forgive it and restore us? Yes.
Regardless of where you find yourself upon reading this, there is hope in God. You can have a future and a wonderful future at that. Things might be different in your future as a result of your decisions and actions, but it will still be a wonderful future if you come to the Lord understanding that it is only in Him that you will find forgiveness, restoration and hope. Regardless of what we may have done God’s mercies are renewed every morning.
I call you blessed,
Pastor Chuck
