Working Faith and Patience

Dear Church Family,

Greetings in Jesus' name!

I trust that your New Year is going well. I want to encourage you to tuck in tightly to God and His things. This year is going to be a wild ride for those who are playing church; but for those

seriously walking with Jesus, it is going to be powerful.

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The word follower means to imitate. We are to imitate those who inherit the promises of God through faith and patience. This means that we are to be those that inherit the promises of God through faith and patience. The promises of God are inherited (obtained for an inheritance) through faith and patience. There is a quality of steadfastness and long suffering required for God's people. The warfare begins with the fact that it is very difficult to wait on God when we are so conditioned with a "microwave" culture. We want what we want now. We must realize that while we are exercising our faith and patience, God is working to bring us to His desired end. Not only is God working things toward His desired end on the outside, but He is working things within us, as well. During this time, we live by faith until we see the promise(s) of God become a reality. We live with the understanding that God will come through and meet our needs in His time and in a way that is in our best spiritual interest. While we may not understand why God is dealing with us in the way that He is or why it is taking so long (from a natural perspective), we do know that we will reap the harvest of our faith and patience - which is what God has promised.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

I want to encourage you not to faint. Do not lose courage. Hang on, and God will fulfill His Word in you and in your situation.

I call you blessed!
